Origin

The African-American Studies Librarians Interest Group was established by the ACRL Board of Directors at the 2016 Midwinter Meeting. Prior to this, the AASL IG was the African American Studies Section (AFAS).

Join ACRL-AASLIG 
Beginning September 1, 2016, you can join the African-American Studies Librarians Interest Group through your ALA membership record, and participate through the interest group’s ALA Connect space and the ACRL listserv. If you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas for discussion topics or events, please contact the conveners.
